Isle of Mull - Self Catering Cottage

You can watch otters whilst sitting up in bed; follow white tail and golden eagles from the kitchen as they fly overhead; see peregrines from the back garden…or just sit and enjoy the views.

Built in 2005, Tigh SgeirGael sits under the magnificent Gribun Cliffs and just 50 metres from the sea on the remote west coast of Mull.

The Isle of Mull is renowned for its scenery, flora and fauna all of which are encapsulated in Gribun, which quite appropriately, is both landscape protected and a designated SSSI.

Whether you are looking for peace and quiet with spectacular views, bird watching, sea and sand or just a convenient place to explore the island, Tigh SgeirGael is perfect. The cottage, which sleeps 6 adults plus 2 children, has all the comforts of a modern building with some very traditional West Highland touches. Beautifully furnished with many antiques and delightful soft furnishings, the accommodation includes fully equipped kitchen/diner, sitting room, sunroom, 2 double bedrooms on the ground floor and one additional large bedroom on the first floor, bathroom and utility.

There are magnificent views from the cottage whichever way you look; south along Gribun cliffs down to Iona; west across the bay to Inch Kenneth, Ulva and the Treshnish Isles (providing the scenery for some spectacular sunsets); north to Ulva Ferry and the mouth of Loch na Keal; and in the east there's the cliffs of Gribun and Creag Mhor.

There's so much to see and do at Gribun it's easy to forget the practicalities of a self catering holiday. Salen - with a shop, pub, Italian restaurant and petrol - is a short drive along the shore of Loch na Keal. And there is relatively quick and easy access to Tobermory, the Ross of Mull and Iona, and of course the ferries to and from the mainland.

Whatever the reason for your visit to Mull, you'll find Tigh SgeirGael the perfect place for an unforgettable holiday. And why not think about a twin centre break combining a stay on the mainland at Stag Cottage in Glen Hurich.
