Built in the late 19th Century for the Glen Hurich Estate gamekeeper, Stag Cottage has been refurbished this year to provide the best possible self catering accommodation.
The cottage is beautifully furnished with traditional "highland" textiles and antique furniture to accommodate up to four in twin and double bedrooms. There's everything you need to make this your best Scottish Highland holiday.
Set between the tranquil Glen Hurich and Loch Doilet - just 6 miles from Strontian and Loch Sunart - it's the perfect base for walking, cycling, sight seeing, wildlife watching or just escaping.
With thousands of birds, animals and plants (including rare species such as Pine Marten - seen in the back garden, Sea Eagles and Red Squirrels) you can begin to appreciate why this area is the secret jewel of the Scottish Highlands.
This is a fantastic location whatever you choose to do:
- Fort William - "The Outdoor Capital of the UK" is about an hour away whilst Tobermory on the Isle of Mull makes a perfect day trip.
- There are miles of forest tracks and ancient footpaths right on the doorstep and the Sunart Oakwoods close by at Ariundle.
- Discover hidden coves, ancient castles, sweeping seascapes and more as you drive through Ardnamurchan to Moidart, Arisaig and Mallaig.
- Sea, fresh, still and running water provide countless opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, fishing and even whale watching.
For everyday items, Strontian offers shops, a tourist information centre, petrol and the Sunart Centre - well known for its performing and visual arts programme.
Availability is from Saturday to Saturday - throughout the year. |
